Png or jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading screenshots from the WPT YouTube channel. Besides adding {{Licensereview}}, I'd also like to note it's better to use .jpg (with high quality settings!) instead of .png because of how the Wikimedia software works. Compare:

I will keep that in mind. Thank you! -- M-B (talk) 01:03, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Alexis Jazz: So converting all pictures to jpg and reuploading them is an option? -- M-B (talk) 01:18, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's possible. By the way, adding a ping afterwards doesn't work, you have to add a signature for it to work. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 15:50, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Alexis Jazz: Thank you for the information. But overwriting an existing image by another with other file format is impossible, right? -- M-B (talk) 15:52, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
I think I finally got it right.. that was a pain. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 17:38, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Alexis Jazz: Nice! I will replace the png files in the articles by the jpg files. After that we will delete the png files? -- M-B (talk) 17:40, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
In the articles, you can simply change the extension from png to jpg. The filenames are otherwise the same. The png files could be removed afterwards, but it's not a requirement. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 17:42, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Nevermind, I'll request a global replace for them. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 17:52, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Requested. Now you shouldn't have to update all the articles. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 18:04, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Great, thanks a lot! -- M-B (talk) 18:14, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
But you forgot File:Natasha Mercier 2017.png, right? -- M-B (talk) 19:58, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Impossible! - Alexis Jazz ping plz 14:53, 31 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Alexis Jazz: :D Happy new year man and thanks for your help! -- M-B (talk) 17:49, 31 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Alexis Jazz: Can you please delete the png-files now? They are not needed anymore and after deletion we have a better overview in Category:Poker players from the United States for example. -- M-B (talk) 18:33, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Autopatrol given

edit

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. (actually it was granted by Achim55) - Alexis Jazz ping plz 18:39, 14 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Duplicates

Please reread Com:Duplicates to better understand that deletion policy and why I have rejected a recent request from you.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:37, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

edit

File:Vince Van Patten 2019.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
